Arsenal are still chasing a new right back and Bayer Leverkusen ace Jeremie Frimpong seems to be a key target again.

Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong is one of the right backs Arsenal will now consider signing to bolster Mikel Arteta’s squad.

That is according to Sport Bild, who claim that Arsenal want to focus on signing another right back.

Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice are set to join Kai Havertz at the Emirates Stadium but the spending won’t end there.

It’s claimed that Arsenal have a particular interest in landing Frimpong, who is one of a number of targets.

Manchester City’s Joao Cancelo and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Henrichs are also considered to be on the Arsenal wish list.

Arsenal have been in transfer discussions with Leverkusen for some time now with the Bundesliga side chasing Granit Xhaka.

Frimpong’s name may well have come up in conversation but a deal is expected to be tricky.

Football London claim that Frimpong wants guarantees over his playing time and that may be difficult for Arsenal.

Frimpong is still a name for Arsenal fans to keep tabs on but a move to join compatriot Timber sounds complicated.

Jeremie Frimpong would be fascinating Arsenal signing

Hailed as ‘incredibly fast’ by Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes, Frimpong is seen as something completely different to Ben White in that he is a very attacking option.

Formerly of Celtic, Frimpong is more accustomed to playing as a wing back than as a full back in a four-man defence.

There is no doubting Frimpong’s attacking ability.

The 22-year-old hit nine goals and 11 assists in all competition for Leverkusen last season, numbers that would probably delight a winger.

Fitting that kind of player into this Arsenal team is an interesting idea given how well Arsenal played with White backing up Bukayo Saka.

White offered defensive solidity down that side but Frimpong would be wanting to overlap Saka all day long.

We’re really not used to seeing this kind of approach from Arteta’s Arsenal and a deal for Frimpong would be interesting in terms of the tactical tweaks the Gunners may need to make.
