I've heard that CAA is not only the biggest single force in Hollywood. They can really make or break your career. Some even say it's the biggest force in the United States, period.

What are your thoughts?

Bigger than the Air Force?

The rumors are that nearly every CAA client is unhappy. Too much attention paid to too few. Consider this: the top female agent at CAA is Hylda Queally. She represents all the A list actresses particularly the foreign A list actresses - Blanchett, Winslet, Cotillard, Cruz, etc. She’s gone to nearly every single award show with Blanchett so basically she makes sure Cate gets first dibs on the prime roles for women of a certain age.

It was recently announced that gay power agent Brian Swardstrom is retiring in June from UTA. He was their star agent so now every UTA client is now going to flock to CAA or WME. That CAA representation don't come cheap.

And what happened to IMG? What's the story?

R2, Hylda signing off on Cate playing Lilith in Borderlands might be a big whoopsie. That movie was filmed in 2020 and just had re-shoots a few months ago. Who knows if it will ever be released.

Cate is far too old to play Lilith and should have had the sense to take a hard pass.

At this point, all CAA can offer its clients are Marvel shit and a supporting role in a Christopher Nolan movie.
