Most older kids can make this book on their own or you can make it yourself for younger kids to enjoy. I suggest using hot glue to secure the items on the foam pieces and a single hole punch to create the holes. Everything except the piece of the tree can be found at a local craft store.

What you need:

  • 6 foam sheets
  • Small objects for each of the 5 senses
  • Pipe cleaner
  • Hole punch
  • Marker
  • Glue

What you do:

  • Punch holes through each of the foam sheets, being sure to line them up. Then wrap a pipe cleaner through the holes. (Use our photos as a guide for all steps.)
  • Label one page with the title of the book and decorate it. (Example: My Christmas 5 Senses Book)
  • Write one "senses" sentence on each page "I feel the...", "I smell the...".
  • Glue the matching objects to the foam sheets. We used a sprig from a pine tree, gingerbread man sticker, tiny gift bags, candy cane, and jingle bells.
