David Ornstein has told the Ornstein and Chapman podcast that Arsenal have assured him that Martin Odegaard is not injured.

Odegaard is expected to be announced as an Arsenal player today (Daily Mail), but rumours have circulated that he could be suffering with a problem already.

The Norwegian is listed as ‘injured’ on Real Madrid’s website and he hasn’t trained with his teammates in recent times.

However, Ornstein insists that the imminent Arsenal arrival is not suffering with any issues, and should be fit to play as soon as he signs.

“I saw there was a lot of this going around yesterday and he was listed as injured on the Real Madrid website and training inside in recent days,” he said.

“But when I checked I was told that there was nothing significant to worry about and that Arsenal were very comfortable.

“So I think, famous last words, that’s okay!”

Odegaard’s arrival at Arsenal has caused great excitement within the club, as he looks a hugely impressive talent.

Although the youngster will only be joining on a short-term deal, he should inject creativity and energy into Arsenal’s side.

Odegaard’s starting position is far from guaranteed though, as Emile Smith Rowe has thrived in the number 10 position in recent weeks.

If Odegaard does arrive in the near future then his debut could come against Manchester United on Saturday.
