SALT LAKE CITY — State troopers closed westbound U.S. Highway 40 south of Jordanelle Reservoir due to icy conditions and multiple crashes, while U.S. Highway 6 was closed in Spanish Fork Canyon due to a crash.

Officials with the Utah Highway Patrol said eastbound U.S. 6 was closed at the Thistle Junction while westbound traffic was stopped at milepost 210.

The crash occurred near Soldier Summit Monday morning when a semi-truck and minivan collided. Troopers said one person was critically injured and a medical helicopter was en route to the area.

In Wasatch County, westbound U.S. 40 was closed south of Jordanelle Reservoir due to multiple crashes and icy road conditions.

Troopers did not say when lanes would reopen and no injuries had been reported.
