Baseball recruits begin their search early in the process. Before they graduate from high school, some athletes even receive offers, and the majority of the best prospects have committed to colleges by the time they are in their second year. However, Condon’s situation was different. It looked like Rhodes College, a Division III school in Memphis, was where he would play baseball in the future but COVID-19 spoiled his season in high school.

Condon attended The Walker School in Marietta, Georgia. In his final year, he hit 432 and had an OPS of 1.310. Condon played football and started as the starting quarterback during his final three years of high school.

In 2022, Condon was redshirted during his rookie year at Georgia. In 2023, he participated in 56 games and started all of them. He finished the season with a.386/.484/.800 batting line after hitting 25 home runs and 67 runs batted in (RBI).

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) presented him with the Freshman Hitter of the Year and Baseball America Freshman of the Year trophies.

He was a member of the U.S. collegiate national team during the summer following the season. In the post-season summer, he was a part of the U.S. collegiate national team.
