Lily James stars in a new romantic comedy arriving in theaters this weekend! James plays a documentary filmmaker in What’s Love Got to Do with It?, a British rom-com directed by Shekhar Kapur, based on a screenplay by Jemima Khan.

James’ character, Zoe, makes a documentary about her best friend Kaz’s journey to marry a beautiful bride in Pakistan as part of an arranged marriage. Having spent countless hours scrolling through “Mr. Wrong’s” on dating apps, Zoe has become disenchanted with romance. Watching Kaz’s romance unfold introduced her to a new way of finding love.

Besides James, the movie stars Shazad Latif, Shabana Azmi, Emma Thompson, Sajal Aly, Oliver Chris, Asim Chaudhry, Jeff Mirza, Alice Orr-Ewing, and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

It’s unclear where this movie will stream after theaters because the distributor, StudioCanal, has worked with several different streaming services. But if you are a Lily James fan, she does have several movies on Netflix right now, including Rebecca, Burnt, The Dig, Darkest Hour, and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.

For now, the only way you can watch the movie is to go see it in theaters. It will be released in US theaters nationwide on Friday, May 5, 2023. After it has been in theaters for at least a few weeks, the film will make its way to digital for viewers to rent or buy. There hasn’t been any official announcement regarding where the film might stream.
